Samsung Electronics America, Inc. seeks a Senior Staff Storage Engineer to lead storage architecture for EDA and HPC workloads. You will own NetApp ONTAP, StorageGRID, and hybrid-cloud storage strategies, coordinating with CAD, silicon design, and SRE teams to ensure scalable and resilient infrastructure.

The role emphasizes deep NetApp ONTAP expertise, Linux NFS tuning, and automation using Python, Ansible, and Terraform, supporting petabyte-scale environments with multinational collaboration.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of enterprise storage engineering experience, including 5+ years in large-scale EDA/HPC environments.
• Expert-level NetApp ONTAP experience with FlexGroup, SnapMirror, FabricPool and ONTAP REST automation.
• Deep Linux filesystem and NFS troubleshooting and tuning experience.
• Strong IaC and automation skills using Python, Ansible, Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, scalability, and performance strategy for NetApp ONTAP and Linux-based storage infrastructures powering EDA/HPC workloads.
• Lead multi-year roadmaps for ONTAP, StorageGRID, and enterprise storage platforms.
• Design high-availability, multi-site replication, and hybrid-cloud storage solutions.
• Diagnose end-to-end performance and operational issues across EDA apps, Linux NFS clients, networks, and ONTAP internals.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across CAD, infrastructure, and SRE teams.
