This role has authority to approve cases up to 10,000 lives and provides guidance to junior underwriters. You will evaluate risk using client financial condition, employee group characteristics, participation, industry, and claims history, ensuring proper pricing and funding.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6-8 years underwriting experience.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• PC skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex group insurance applications within guidelines.
• Approve cases up to 10,000 lives.
• Provide guidance to lower-level underwriters.
• Evaluate risk using client financials, employee group characteristics, participation, industry, and claims history.
• Coordinate underwriting on proposals, new cases, renewals, and amendments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with field personnel and clients.
