Job summary

Voya Financial is seeking a Lead Stop Loss Group Underwriter in Minneapolis to independently underwrite complex group insurance applications within guidelines. The role includes guiding lower level underwriters, evaluating risk, and coordinating underwriting activities on proposals, renewals, and amendments.

The ideal candidate has 6–8 years underwriting experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and a BS degree preferred. Competitive base salary with incentives is offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6–8 years underwriting experience statement in job listing.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• PC skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and work direction to lower level group underwriters.
• Evaluate risk for complex group insurance products and determine pricing and funding methods.
• Coordinate underwriting activities on proposals, new cases, renewals, and amendments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with field personnel and clients and document decisions.
