Job summary

Mayo Career Site UK is seeking a dedicated Central Service Technician to support the operating room team with sterile processing and instrument care for surgical and other procedures.

You will decontaminate, assemble, inspect, package, sterilize and store reusable instruments, maintain inventory, and ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines while collaborating with the OR staff and Central Service leaders.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble, inspect, package, sterilize and store reusable instruments for surgical and other procedures.
• Clean, package and re-process reusable surgical equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Support the surgical team by meeting needs in the sterile core.

Job description

Responsible for performing delegated activities to support the operating room team in the care of the surgical patient as well as procedural areas within the hospital. Duties are performed under the supervision of the Central Service Team Leaders and Central Service Supervisor and in collaboration with the operating room team. Responsibilities include:

• Decontamination, assembly, inspection, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable instruments and equipment for surgical and other procedures.
• Cleaning, packaging and re-processing of re-usable surgical equipment, instrumentation and scopes per manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Maintaining inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Meeting the needs of the surgical team through support of activities in the sterile core.

Qualified applicants must live within a reasonable driving distance to campus to meet the 45-minute on-call report time requirement.
