Qualifications

• National certification in sterile processing is required within the first year.
• Experience in sterile processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high professional and ethical standards in sterilization processes.
• Apply microbiology and infection control knowledge to processing of instruments.
• Advance knowledge of surgical instrumentation in the operating room.
• Decontaminate and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Maintain daily records and monitor chemical, mechanical, and biological processes.
• Assist in orienting and precepting new team members.
• Distribute instrument trays according to surgery schedules and surgeon preferences.
• Communicate with SPD Supervisor/Operations Specialist on unit activities.
