Qualdoc in Richmond, VA is seeking a Steel Shipping Lead for a contract-to-hire role. The candidate will oversee daily steel loadout operations, ensure safe and accurate shipments, and lead the shipping team in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating with logistics and production, maintaining load tickets, and enforcing safety standards. Experience with cranes and forklifts, plus Tekla EPMgo familiarity, are preferred.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of experience in structural steel material handling or shipping
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
• Experience operating overhead cranes, telehandlers, vertical mast lifts, and forklifts
• Familiarity with Tekla EPMgo or similar production/shipping software preferred
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards

• Ensure materials are safely loaded, secured, and shipment-ready
• Verify load accuracy, material markings, and shipping documentation
• Coordinate with logistics, production, and shop teams to meet delivery schedules
• Maintain accurate load tickets and shipping records using production/shipping software
• Train and support new team members
• Lead daily team safety meetings and enforce safety standards
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements
• Provide hands‑on leadership in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
