Job summary

ARB, Inc. seeks a Steel Estimator to lead structural steel estimates for EPC projects. You will conduct job walks, perform quantity take-offs, and develop detailed proposals, partnering with engineering and field teams to ensure accurate, competitive bids.

The role emphasizes PEMB and TI work, post-bid value engineering, and seamless transition to the field after award. A strong background in industrial construction and EPC bidding is required.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in industrial construction preferred.
• College degree preferred.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software, MS Word and Excel Strong quantity take-off skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with miscellaneous metals.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
• Proven experience in bidding for EPC projects, including a thorough understanding of the EPC process and requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Attend job walks to gather information for estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs and develop detailed proposals.
• Handle miscellaneous metals in estimating process.
• Estimate for PEMB including TI work.
• Participate in post-bid discussions to finalize bid prices and scope.
• Engage in post-bid value engineering to optimize costs.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain knowledge of industry standards and practices.
• Present cost estimates to clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with EPC teams to gather information and align project goals.
• Develop and manage structural and miscellaneous steel estimates for EPC projects and small-scale industrial work.
• Transition from estimating to the field team after bids.
