Job summary

Metal Recruiters seeks an experienced PEMB Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates, proposals, and change orders for pre-engineered metal building projects. The role partners with customers, sales, project management, architects, and production teams to align scope and pricing.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in PEMB or related construction estimating, with strong drawing interpretation, vendor coordination, and negotiation skills. Remote or hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years estimating experience in PEMB, steel fabrication, or related construction fields
• Experience interpreting architectural/structural drawings and bid documents
• Proven ability to prepare estimates, proposals, contracts, and change orders
• Experience supporting competitive bid opportunities and customer negotiations is strongly preferred
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication and proficiency with estimating software

Responsibilities

• Estimating & Proposal Development: prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing proposals based on drawings, specs, and bid docs
• Analyze project scope, material requirements, labor considerations, and production impacts to develop competitive estimates
• Generate quotations, contracts, clarifications, and supporting documentation for customer review
• Prepare and process change orders, revisions, and pricing updates throughout the project lifecycle
• Support bid opportunities and participate in pricing discussions and negotiations as needed
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to clarify technical requirements and bid assumptions
• Project & Cost Analysis: evaluate costs, pricing trends, and scheduling impacts to support profitability
• Maintain estimating databases and historical pricing records to improve accuracy
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to estimating workflow
