Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years in steam turbines or turbomachinery.
• Experience in steam turbine rotating and stationary blade design.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, materials, fatigue, creep, fluid dynamics, and rotor dynamics.
• Proven ability to drive product development from concept to fielded systems.
• Experience with system engineering and large welded fabrications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and drive the detailed technical work scope for large steam turbines and generators.
• Generate turbine design options that meet performance requirements.
• Lead and review analyses to ensure robust turbine designs.
• Perform thermodynamic, blade shaping, and CFD analysis with design tools.
• Develop project plans and pre-contract estimates based on scope and risks.
• Mentor teams and represent DRS to customers, including the U.S. Navy.
