Job summary

You will optimize subcomponents like buckets, diaphragms, and nozzles and ensure their performance within a turbine assembly using advanced turbomachinery tools. Responsibilities include planning the technical work scope, generating design options, leading analyses, and mentoring teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in steam turbines or turbomachinery rotating components.
• Fundamentals of mechanical design, materials, fatigue, and creep.
• Proven ability to drive product development from concept to fielded systems.
• Strong system engineering and large welded fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and drive detailed technical work scope for large steam turbines, gas turbines, and generators.
• Generate turbine concept design options to accelerate detail design.
• Lead and review analyses to ensure robust turbine designs.
• Perform thermodynamic, blade shaping, flow path, and rotor dynamics analyses.
• Develop project plans and pre-contract estimates based on scope and risks.
• Mentor team members in state-of-the-art design and analysis processes.
