Job summary

Ever-Green Energy Inc. in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a Chief Operating Manager to oversee operation and maintenance of the university steam heating plants and related systems.

The role directs daily plant activities, schedules outages, and ensures safe, compliant operation while coordinating with site management and procurement. Minimum requirements include a Minnesota Chief Engineer Grade A license, a high school diploma with technical knowledge, and 5+ years in high-pressure steam plant

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with strong technical knowledge related to operation, maintenance, and repair of the high-pressure steam heating plant.
• Currently hold a valid State of Minnesota Chief Engineer Grade A Stationary Engineer’s License.
• Five (5) years or more of experience in the operations of a large, high pressure steam heating plant, in high pressure boiler operation and/or in combustion turbine operation.
• Demonstrate ability to coordinate operations and maintenance activities and set and achieve goals with a high degree of self-initiation and independence.
• Ability to work well with others, to communicate clearly both orally and in writing and to direct and/or train others.
• Familiarity with boiler, turbine and chiller equipment and their auxiliaries and with all types of maintenance work.
• Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, and plant controls applications.
• Able to read, analyze, and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics/blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Manages day to day operations of the Southeast, Main, or St. Paul Steam Heating Plant.
• Schedules plant maintenance/outages, including plant walkdowns with potential bidders.
• Responsible for plant procurement and adherence to Company policies and procedures relating to same.
• Responsible for approving employee timecards, along with allocating their schedules.
• Assist with the annual Business and Financial Planning efforts to be presented to Ever-Green Energy management.
• Ensure the safe and reliable operation of the steam plants.
