Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an Associate Director of Statistics to provide statistical leadership across clinical development and lifecycle management. You will lead design, analysis and reporting for multiple projects, mentor junior statisticians, and collaborate with CROs, regulatory teams, and medical affairs to advance medicines.

The role requires strong expertise in statistics, drug development in a regulated environment, and excellent communication to diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Proven depth in statistical methodology and practical application.
• Ability to explain complex statistics to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience leading work across competing priorities and managing timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide statistical support for clinical development projects and lead strategic statistical direction.
• Lead design, analysis and reporting for clinical or scientific programs with protocols and SAPs.
• Represent function on project teams and align with stakeholders to develop development strategies.
• Demonstrate understanding of statistical concepts and propose novel methodologies for study design.
• Train and mentor staff; may supervise junior statisticians; support professional development.
• Develop strategy for data presentation and inference; contribute to publications and ensure accurate reports.
• Act as liaison for statistical issues with CROs, academia, and regulators; build external connections.
• Ensure regulatory requirements are met and review submission documents; validate external software.
