Job summary

AEP Service Corporation seeks an experienced engineer to plan, direct, and lead the design and upgrade of transmission and distribution station facilities. You will oversee capital planning, budgeting, and cross-functional coordination to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-efficient projects.

You will guide senior teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor staff while maintaining project schedules and budgets in a sedentary to light activity environment.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Minimum eight (8) years of electric utility engineering experience.
• Three (3) years of experience in station design, maintenance, or construction.
• Three (3) years of experience leading engineering, construction, or operations assignments.
• Driver's license in the state of residence required; Professional Engineer license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct and supervise the engineering and design of AEP system station facilities, or external station facilities as requested by other customers, within approved schedules and budgets.
• Provide technical consultation and support across research, development, planning, operations and maintenance.
• Develop annual capital forecast for AEP stations aligned with corporate strategy and budgets.
• Coordinate needs with transmission/distribution planning groups and other teams involved in capital improvements.
• Assist in development of internal operating budgets and salary budgets for Station Projects Engineering.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety and regulatory requirements.
