Job summary

UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE) seeks a Senior Standards Program Manager for Combustion, Cable and Conduit (CCC). This hybrid role is based in Evanston, IL; Raleigh-Durham, NC; or Ottawa, Canada, and leads standards development across a diverse portfolio to advance safety and sustainability.

You will drive end-to-end lifecycle management, engage external stakeholders, and lead teams to deliver high-impact standards while adapting to industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 9 years of related work experience.
• PMP or relevant project management certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle of standard development process, managing multiple projects to align with organizational goals.
• Drive integration of safety standards into applicable end-product and services standards; advocate UL standards publications.
• Serve as subject matter expert and build relationships with stakeholders; represent the organization in committees and publications.
• Develop and implement technical program strategic plans, processes, communication systems, information systems and performance measurement.
• Scope and lead end-to-end project plans; address complex issues and lead process improvement within cross-functional teams.
• Monitor performance of portfolio standards; identify opportunities for expansion and ensure ongoing relevance of safety standards.
• Represent ULSE in stakeholder bodies; lead collaborative efforts and consensus building to advance safety initiatives.
• Lead technical committee chairs and teams with cross-functional workstreams across programs.
• Provide mentorship and training to team members; foster a collaborative environment for effective execution.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends to inform strategic decisions for standards development.
• Contribute to department initiatives as needed.
