Job summary

Rocket Lab in the United States is seeking a Principal Stage Fluids Engineer to own the design, build, test, and review of fluid systems across the Neutron launch vehicle. This role covers plumbing between tanks and engines to enable high-reliability, reusable flight hardware.

You will model, test, and optimize fluid components, mentor peers, and collaborate with propulsion, structures, mechanical, operations, and flight software teams.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in a hardware-rich environment.
  • Experience with fluid components design for valves, pressure vessels, fittings.
  • DfM/DfAM, machining and welding with GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Design plumbing systems, components, and their secondary structures.
  • Analyze these systems in launch environments and review critical analyses.
  • Model systems to predict behavior under all conditions.
  • Test and qualify these systems, components, and modules.
  • Manage requirements and implementation within the launch vehicle context.
  • Integrate hardware into the vehicle and collaborate across teams.
  • Review test data to improve future designs.
  • Collaborate with propulsion, structures, mechanical, operations, and flight software teams.
  • Create tools to enhance analysis capabilities and streamline launch operations.
  • Set standards for design, production, and testing across the program.
  • Mentor and grow peers to strengthen the team.
