Job summary

Providence Alaska Medical Center is seeking a Timekeeper/Nursing Staff Scheduler to centralize timekeeping for nursing units, recording and updating payroll data, and finalizing pay period timecards.

You will create balanced monthly staffing schedules, approve PTO and shift trades, and arrange supplemental staffing while ensuring compliance with labor laws and Providence policies. Kronos experience is preferred, and you will generate reports for nursing leadership to inform staffing decisions.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Business, Finance, Informatics, HR or related field or 1–2 years of related experience.
• 1 year of experience using a complex automated time and attendance system or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a related field.
• 1 year of experience as a Timekeeper or Nursing Staff Scheduler.

Responsibilities

• Centralizes timekeeping for nursing units and approves timecards at each pay period close.
• Maintains nursing unit monthly staff schedules, approves PTO and shift trades, assigns extra shifts per policies.
• Updates and monitors daily schedules to ensure balanced staffing and supplemental staffing as needed.
• Produces Kronos reports and supports nursing leadership with staffing data.

Job description

Provides for centralized timekeeping for nursing units approving timecards at the close of each pay period. Performs tasks related to the accurate recording, editing and maintenance of timekeeping/payroll records for caregivers Creates and maintains nursing unit monthly staff schedules approving PTO, staff shift trades and assignment of extra shifts in accordance with labor laws, contracts and Providence policies. Provides support to nursing units and Staffing Specialists by updating and monitoring daily schedules, assuring appropriate distribution of staff by producing a balanced monthly unit staffing schedule and arranging for supplemental staffing for nursing units. Acts as Kronos support producing reports for nursing leadership as requested.

Required Qualifications:
