Polaris Inc. in Minnesota seeks an experienced mechanical engineer to design and release exterior plastic and interior trim components from concept through production.

You will coordinate with Design, Vehicle Architecture, Project Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Validation, and suppliers to ensure manufacturable, cost-effective solutions that meet performance and appearance targets. Up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree required.
• 8+ years in product development for plastic components or interior trim.
• Experience with injection molded components and vehicle body systems.
• Designing exterior plastics and/or interior trim; thermoplastic material selection.

Responsabilités

• Lead design, development, validation, and production release of exterior plastics and interior trim components.
• Translate styling intent into manufacturable designs with design partners.
• Maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and release docs.
• Develop component interfaces and assembly concepts for integration with vehicle systems.
• Manage project deliverables, schedules, risks, and costs.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Validation, and suppliers.
• Support tooling development, DFM reviews, and production launch activities.
• Develop and support subsystem specs, DFMEAs, and DVP&R plans.
• Investigate and resolve design, manufacturing, and field issues using structured problem-solving.
