Job summary

Toyoda Gosei Americas in Michigan seeks a Senior Product Engineer for the Interior/Exterior Plastics Engineering group. You will lead product development from concept through SOP across TG North America, delivering designs for grille, bumper, spoiler, IPs and consoles using 2D/3D tools.

You will create APQP documents, support design reviews with customers, perform Moldflow CAE analyses, conduct DFMEA, and drive kaizen improvements to manufacturability and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required
• 4–8 years of engineering experience required
• Deep expertise in interior/exterior plastic component design and injection molding
• Experience with Moldflow CAE analysis, GD&T, and tolerance studies
• Knowledge of DRBFM/DFMEA, supplier management, and launch readiness

Responsibilities

• Create APQP and engineering documents; support design through SOP
• Negotiate with customers on design requirements while ensuring manufacturability and profitability
• Provide design proposals for interior/exterior plastic parts using 2D & 3D design tools
• Complete benchmarking of competitor components and emerging technology
• Provide technical reports and presentations to customers and internal departments
• Improve designs and define new guidelines to improve quality and productivity
• Develop drawings and participate in Design FMEA as required
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners to optimize designs for manufacturability
• Utilize CAD/CAE systems to model designs and produce drawings
• Drive continuous improvement through kaizen activities
