General Intuition is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Recorder team, owning the core recorder stack including capture, encoding, hooks, and game integrations. You will design maintainable architectures, set guardrails, and collaborate with other teams to ship safe, high-quality features.
The role requires strong C#, .NET Framework, and Win32 skills, plus experience with C/C++ and graphics APIs. This position is in NYC, with five days a week in the office and a team-first, results-driven
General Intuition is the frontier lab for acting in space and time. We build large action models and world models that can perceive, predict, and act across virtual and physical environments. General Intuition builds on the strength of Medal, the world's largest and fastest-growing platform for gaming clips, where millions of gamers capture, share, and discover new games every year. We've raised over $650M from Khosla, GC, Valor, and Point72 since October 2025, and recently closed our latest round at a $6.2B valuation.
You’ll join the Recorder team as a senior engineer and work on the core of Medal: the software that captures, encodes and records gameplay on our users' machines, including game integrations that power features like auto clipping https://support.medal.tv/support/solutions/articles/48001167701-what-is-automatic-event-detection-. Engineers from other teams (Game Integrations, Front End and interns) regularly contribute to the recorder codebase, so a big part of this role is making that safe and easy. You’ll design and architect solutions a team can maintain, set up guardrails and best practices, and help the codebase mature so anyone can make changes cleanly and with confidence. This is hands‑on work across the recorder stack: capture, hooks, encoding and game integrations. We want someone who likes working across the whole system and sharing what they know, not someone who owns one silo.
Our team works primarily in C#, .NET Framework, C++, and GitHub actions. We collaborate closely with our sister teams: front end (Electron/React), back end (Java), and infrastructure (Terraform).
