Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to lead design and delivery of scalable, cloud‑native healthcare software. You will mentor engineers and collaborate with product, UX and security teams to build secure, compliant systems in an Agile environment.

You will architect distributed microservices, implement data exchange with EHR/healthcare formats, and drive CI/CD, observability, and SecDevOps practices on Google Cloud Platform.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• 7+ years of experience developing applications using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.
• 3+ years of experience with Apache Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies.
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• 3+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• 2+ years of experience working with public cloud platforms, including GCP, AWS, or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop high-performance microservices using Java, JEE, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
• Lead development of event-driven services using Apache Kafka and streaming patterns.
• Own API strategy for RESTful services with consistent JSON, backward-compatible versioning, and governance.
• Mentor team members and contribute to engineering standards and reviews.
• Design and implement data migrations and ETL pipelines for healthcare data.
