Job summary

Enverus Intelligence Research Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Developer/Engineer to join the Distribution Tools team in Austin (remote). You will guide architectural decisions, own critical features, and mentor engineers to improve design quality and delivery speed.

This role emphasizes building desktop design tools for electric and gas distribution markets, with strong focus on performance, reliability, and AI‑assisted coding practices across a distributed team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
8+ years of professional software development experience, including sustaining technical leadership on complex systems.
Experience designing and shipping large desktop and/or service-based applications.
Experience leading or mentoring engineers, through formal or informal roles.
Strong communication skills, including writing design documents and presenting trade‑offs to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Own delivery of the most complex and highest‑risk features and enhancements, from requirements through production.
Translate ambiguous product needs into sound technical plans with milestones and risk assessments.
Lead performance, correctness, and reliability work for utility design systems.
Define AI‑assisted development practices for the team and review AI‑generated code.
Mentor engineers across seniority levels and lead design/code reviews.
Collaborate with product and delivery to shape roadmaps and estimates.
