Job summary

Enverus SBS Distribution Tools team seeks an early-career Software Engineer to help build desktop design and engineering tools for electric and gas distribution. You will work with AI coding tools as part of daily coding, review AI-generated code, and learn modern engineering practices under seasoned engineers.

The role emphasizes implementing new features, testing, and collaborating across teams to ensure reliable, secure capabilities for energy infrastructure software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding tools in real projects or coursework with careful review of AI-generated code.
• Familiarity with Visual Studio, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Interest in software used by utilities and energy infrastructure.
• Interest in CAD, GIS, or EAM Systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement new functionality, bug fixes, and enhancements in SBS's Distribution Tools platform (C#, .NET, cloud APIs).
• Collaborate with senior developers to translate requirements and user stories into working software.
• Use AI coding assistants to accelerate development with judgment to review and own AI-generated code.
• Write unit and integration tests to maintain reliability and regression safety.
• Participate in Scrum sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support build and deployment automation through CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with product management, QA, and other developers to deliver secure shared platform capabilities.
• Help identify and reduce technical debt by refactoring and optimization.
