Asana is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the Developer Productivity group, driving velocity and AI-infused development across tooling, frameworks, and infrastructure. The role spans the stack to empower every Asana engineer with faster, more reliable software delivery.

You will shape technical vision with multiple engineering teams, mentor senior engineers, and help prioritize long-term architecture and tech debt while embracing a collaborative, inclusive culture in a hybrid,

Qualifications

10+ years as a technical contributor in large-scale products.
2+ years owning a build system, developer environment, CI or equivalent for 200+ engineers.
Experience making org-wide technical decisions with broad impact.
Developed fluency in current AI developer tooling and ability to set direction.
Passionate about coaching and mentoring engineers.
Collaborative and inclusive culture advocate.
Curious about AI tools and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

Drive developer productivity and AI tooling projects impacting 500+ developers.
Define technical vision and strategy with 6+ engineering teams.
Build and align the roadmap for the development platform to speed up feedback loops.
Own outcomes like internal tooling for agents across harnesses.
Mentor senior and staff engineers across Foundations and Engineering.
Advise team leads on long-term planning, design, architecture, and debt prioritization.
