Asana is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the Developer Productivity group, driving velocity and AI-enabled tooling across the software lifecycle. You will influence multiple engineering teams, shape the technical vision, and own critical outcomes for internal tooling and validation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a technical contributor in large-scale products.
• 2+ years owning a build system, developer environment, CI, or equivalent at 200+ engineers.
• Experience making and delegating technical decisions with org-wide impact.
• Fluency in current AI developer tooling with ability to set direction.
• Passionate about coaching and mentoring engineers of all levels.
• Able to foster an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive.

Responsibilities

• Drive developer productivity and AI tooling projects affecting 500+ developers at Asana.
• Partner with the DP Group Tech Lead to define technical vision for 6+ engineering teams.
• Build and align the roadmap for the development platform to shorten feedback loops.
• Own outcomes like extending internal tooling to agents across harnesses.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers in Developer Productivity and Foundations.
• Advise team leads on long-term planning, design/architecture, and tech debt.
