Job summary

Google Kirkland, WA, is seeking a Senior Staff Security Engineer in Security Engineering for the Cloud CISO. This role focuses on overseeing security assessments, code reviews, and vulnerability testing to harden a wide range of Google Cloud products and infrastructure.

• Embed within product teams to co-design and co-deliver secure cloud products and infrastructure. Design secure protocols and systems.
• Review and develop secure development practices, and provide security guidance for engineers and support staff.
• Leverage and state of the art techniques to perform security reviews, as well as research, reproduce and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Develop and drive sustainable risk reduction strategies. Develop security strategy for Google Cloud Platform products.
• Mentor security engineers, software engineers in product teams, and technical leaders.

Cloud CISO Security Engineering is the team within the Cloud CISO organization responsible for helping ensure every product Cloud ships is as secure as it can be and increasing the assurance levels of security in the infrastructure underlying all our products. This team also focuses on increasing the capabilities of each product team to develop more secure products by design and by default, from patterns, tools and frameworks to increasing the skill level of embedded security leads.

As a security engineer, you will help to ensure that our software and systems are designed and implemented to the highest security standards. You will oversee technical security assessments, code reviews and vulnerability testing to highlight risk, helping Google teams and partners to improve security, and work to secure a wide variety of software designs and technology stacks.
