Job summary

Google Cloud seeks a Staff Software Engineering Manager for Security Data Foundations. You will lead multiple engineering teams across locations, drive technical vision, and mentor engineers to deliver large-scale security data products that power cloud safety and compliance.

This role requires strong distributed systems design, people leadership, and hands-on coding in C++, Java, or Go. You will partner with product security and Cloud CISO leaders, oversee budgets, and advance GenAI data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java or Go.
• 3 years of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
• Experience designing and implementing distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers and TPMs responsible for Cloud CISO's product security-related data.
• Define and drive the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for the team, aligning with Cloud CISO's goals.
• Drive the adoption of advanced GenAI/LLM patterns to improve the accuracy and reliability of our data, and velocity of execution.
• Partner with Cloud CISO leadership, product security engineers, and operations teams to understand data needs, define requirements, and deliver robust solutions.
• Establish and enforce best practices for data quality, governance, and security.

• Sick Time: 40 hours/year (increased to 69 hours/year for Seattle) including 5 discretionary sick days per instance
• Maternity Leave (Short-Term Disability + Baby Bonding): 28-30 weeks
• Baby Bonding Leave: 18 weeks
• Holidays: 13 paid days per year
