Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer (Security) to design and implement security for onboard vehicle and cloud systems. You will lead hands-on development, mentor engineers, and work with partners to ensure secure integration across platforms.

The role emphasizes cryptographic practices, threat modeling, and secure code reviews, with a strong focus on architecture and leadership within a hybrid Seattle-based team.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Production-quality code in C++ and Golang.
• Experience with security architecture, threat modeling, and secure code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design/architect systems to support Aurora’s security goals and Safety Case.
• Lead hands-on implementation of vehicle and cloud security systems.
• Integrate security capabilities with partner teams and platforms.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Platform partners and OEMs for secure integration.
• Mentor security and non-security engineers.
