Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for SDN Architecture to drive the software-defined networking stack for our AI-first cloud. You will design and implement high-performance networking solutions, working across the Linux kernel, packet processing pipelines, and network virtualization to meet throughput and latency needs for massive GPU clusters.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building and operating large-scale networking systems in production.
• Strong SDN/NFV experience and systems programming in C/C++, Go or Rust.
• Knowledge of Linux kernel architecture, memory management, network stack and drivers.
• Hands-on experience with kernel bypass and high-speed packet processing.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to SDN strategy and translate it into concrete plans and milestones.
• Lead architecture reviews and author design documents for major SDN components.
• Optimize Linux kernel modules and high-performance drivers (XDP/eBPF/DPDK).
• Design networking architectures for GPU-to-GPU fabrics and AI clusters.
• Integrate SmartNICs/DPUs into the stack and tune virtualization features (SR-IOV, vDPA).
• Mentor engineers, review designs and code, and drive engineering excellence.
