Gusto in Denver seeks a Senior Staff Software Engineer on the Agent & Partner Experiences team to help scale our payroll platform for developers and AI agents. You’ll blend hands-on Rails work with guiding others, shaping API contracts and tooling across the stack.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software development experience.
• Expertise in Ruby on Rails and large Rails applications.
• Experience designing platforms and public APIs with reliability and scale.
• Mentor others and raise the technical bar across the organization.
• Strong communication of constraints and needs to business leaders.

Responsibilities

• Identify and solve high-impact problems across multiple domains.
