Your Team, Your Impact

The Engineering Test Hardware Operations team supports Product/Test Engineering and Production Teams activities in Santa Clara, MAPL and OSAT locations worldwide. Our primary function is to design, develop, evaluate and maintain various types of test equipment and associated hardware used in manufacturing and testing products ranging from Automotive, Enterprise, Data Center and Hyperscale product lines. We interface with operational manufacturing teams to ensure the highest quality products for our customers.

What You Can Expect

This position supports the Engineering Test Hardware Operations teams in designing, developing, and implementing production test hardware. Responsibilities include working with product engineering groups and hardware vendors to define new hardware/equipment for manufacturing and testability needs for NPI, improving hardware/thermal systems, and collaborating with global teams in the US, Singapore, and OSAT locations.

Marvell utilizes various test hardware platforms for Automotive, Enterprise, Data Center, and Hyperscale product lines. The team develops, evaluates, and maintains these test platforms and other equipment to support production testing.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, and optimize test equipment involving thermal interfaces, automated test handlers, and thermal systems.
  • Implement systems and processes to improve manufacturing and testing efficiency.
  • Analyze heat maps of integrated circuits to identify potential issues and hotspots.
  • Drive thermal solutions with suppliers to resolve heating and cooling issues for ATE and SLT testing.
  • Sourcing and validating new test hardware components such as change kits, load boards, and sockets.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical and thermal challenges on new test equipment using computational and simulation tools.
  • Participate actively in new product hardware development and hardware releases.
  • Work closely with hardware design teams and communicate with global test operations engineering teams.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, with 5+ years of relevant experience; Master’s or PhD with 3+ years preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing and test operations environment.
  • Strong thermodynamics, heat transfer, and energy conversion expertise.
  • Mechanical engineering background with experience in designing thermal and mechanical components for IC test equipment.
  • Knowledge of physics, mathematics, and mechanical principles.
  • Experience with test hardware components like probe cards, sockets, load boards, and change kits is a plus.
  • Ability to identify and solve thermal/mechanical challenges using computational and simulation tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with vendors and teams.
  • Self-driven with minimal supervision required.
Additional Information

Base pay range: $111,780 - $167,500 per annum, determined by skills and experience. The total compensation package includes base salary, bonus, and equity, along with benefits like health and financial wellbeing programs, flexible time off, 401k, and more.
