Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corp. is seeking a Senior Staff Application Engineer to join the Performance Computing Power Emulation Engineering team in Austin.

You will contribute to pre-silicon feature bring-up and tapeout validation for AI and cloud infrastructure products, collaborating with IC design, firmware, and systems teams. You will lead high-speed power design efforts, oversee board-level validation, and drive robust power delivery, thermal management, and SI/PI analysis across multiple design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in power design for CPU/GPU/ASIC-class loads.
• Experience with high-speed differential clock and data interfaces (SerDes) and PCIe/Ethernet/USB.
• Strong lab skills with high-bandwidth instruments and power validation equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional design reviews and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Design multiphase power solutions for CPU/GPU/ASIC-class loads.
• Design boards and power systems interfacing with pre-silicon emulation for system validation.
• Develop EVBs including schematic capture, component selection, and thermal design.
• Oversee PCB layout to meet power delivery and thermal performance.
• Validate power performance in the lab using scopes, VNAs, and TDRs.
• Support pre-silicon feature bring-up and tapeout validation with cross-functional teams.
