Job summary

Renesas Electronics in Austin, TX is seeking a Staff Firmware Engineer for the PCP team. You will architect, design, and maintain firmware for power management ICs spanning from low level circuits to large system designs.

Qualifications include 8+ years in firmware on custom SOCs, strong C/assembly, RTOS knowledge, Verilog experience, and Linux scripting. You'll collaborate with hardware, validation, and bring up silicon through to production.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of firmware development on custom SOCs in pre and post silicon environment.
• BS/MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field.
• Expert in embedded firmware development in C and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and verify embedded firmware for digital PWM voltage regulators.
• Write firmware patches to implement new features or apply hardware workarounds.
• Collaborate with hardware design team to define interfaces based on requirements.
• Document firmware architecture and implementation through specifications.
• Support silicon bring-up with validation team and debug issues.
• Develop automated tests to validate firmware on lab benches.
