Job summary

Reddit, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer to lead the next-generation user understanding initiative, building a unified, high-fidelity representation of each user to power personalization across feeds, search, and ads.

You will set the technical direction for embeddings, user profiles, and attribute modeling, drive end-to-end systems from data to serving, and mentor senior engineers while partnering with product and infra teams to deliver measurable impact at global scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building and scaling production-grade ML systems.
• Track record of driving ambiguous, high-impact initiatives from concept to production.
• Product- and impact-oriented with focus on engagement, retention, revenue.

Responsibilities

• Design and set a unified user understanding strategy (embeddings, attributes, profiles).
• Lead advanced user models (large-scale representation learning, multi-task).
• Evolve models with LLMs/Gen-AI for richer user understanding.
• Ship core components for embeddings storage, retrieval, pipelines and APIs.
• Collaborate with Feeds, Search, Ads, and infra teams to drive adoption and measurable impact.
• Mentor senior engineers, lead design reviews, and establish best practices.
