Job summary

Boston Dynamics is seeking a Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer for the Atlas Actuation team, focusing on Continuous Improvement. You will lead RCA on hardware failures, drive ECOs, and update BOMs across in-house builds and overseas manufacturing partners, ensuring reliability and manufacturability at scale.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage large projects, and help mature the product through DFx principles while supporting global production expansion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 7+ years in design, systems, or sustaining engineering
• Strong RCA and hardware problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with production teams, overseas partners, and test teams to gather defect details
• Review defect data to understand actuator product maturity
• Lead hands-on failure analysis and RCCA investigations for defects and failure modes
• Propose and implement ECOs to fix defects and improve reliability and manufacturability
• Champion the actuation roadmap and evaluate new technologies for future products
