Job summary

Medal.TV is seeking a senior infrastructure engineer to own the on-call rotation, lead postmortems, and collaborate with engineering teams to keep our massive video ingestion and social layers reliable. You’ll drive scaling, incident response, and infra improvements at a game-facing platform used by millions of gamers daily.

The role requires hands-on experience with Terraform, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes on GCP, and production-grade database scaling, with a calm, result-driven mindset for 2am

Qualifications

• Infrastructure-as-code fluency with Terraform at scale.
• Hands-on Elasticsearch for user-facing features, not just logs.
• Deep GCP experience including Kubernetes, VPC, IAM and Cloud Logging.
• Production experience scaling relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Calm incident response, driving postmortems to prevent recurrence.
• Practical CI/CD in production, e.g., GitHub Actions.
• Clear, rapid incident communication and actionable postmortems.
• Experience in fast-growing startups with scaling priorities.
• Ability to distinguish durable fixes from temporary patches.

Responsibilities

• Own on-call rotation and respond to incidents at 2am when needed.
• Lead postmortems and implement fixes to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to meet infra needs at scale.
• Help shape reliability, observability, and incident response culture.
