  • Conduct dam safety inspections for existing dams.
  • Develop project-specific design criteria using relevant design codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Collect, review, and organize historical project data, including drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Prepare geotechnical data and design reports and provide geotechnical/geological contributions to design documentation for multidisciplinary projects.
  • Collaborate with Design Technology staff to prepare and revise project drawings.
  • Communicate directly with multidisciplinary engineering teams to interpret geotechnical/geological conditions and their implications on design and construction.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Professional Engineer (preferably P.E. in at least one State; a P.Eng. in at least one Province/Territory is an asset).
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience; experience with subsurface geotechnical investigations for dam projects is a tremendous asset.
  • Proficiency in field logging, classification, and testing of soil and rock using various techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant design codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements preferred.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and communicating design intent from contract documents, plans, and specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and prioritize effectively.
  • Keen attitude and willingness to learn and accept constructive criticism.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 40% of a given year and adapt to changing schedules.
