Job description

Job Description

We have a unique and exciting new opportunity supporting our large clients, primarily in the digital infrastructure space. This role allows you to combine your program management, technical, and client experience skills while working from the location of your choice.

In this position, you will help develop a new national geotechnical engineering program within the largest geotechnical consulting firm in the US. We are seeking an innovative team member to manage large geotechnical engineering projects for Terracon's major clients, working alongside top consultants and leveraging tools like Stage1, Pivvot, and Compass to deliver exceptional client experiences. Projects are nationwide, and the environment is fast-paced and diverse in geological settings.

Within Terracon's Central Engineering and Delivery (CE&D) Team, you will collaborate with local engineers and Subject Matter Experts across our 170 offices to meet client needs. Your focus will be on delivering projects consistently, applying innovative methods in site characterization, data visualization, and collaborative engineering. You will also assist in resource management, project scheduling, and budgeting within Terracon's Project Management Organization (PMO). Responsibilities include conducting client meetings, preparing reports, setting priorities, and coordinating project staff to meet milestones.

Curiosity is essential. You will inquire about clients' site selection, design, and construction approaches, learn from local experts, and work with the CE&D team to innovate and improve workflows.

Technical Aspects of the Role
  • Ensure consistent quality standards in proposal and project delivery.
  • Manage and execute small projects with minimal complexity.
  • Assist in developing scope of work, cost estimates, specifications, and related documents.
  • Analyze data, perform engineering calculations, and review with PE oversight.
  • Coordinate or supervise field investigations, laboratory testing, and data evaluation.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and coordinate project phases.
  • Work closely with senior project managers and Professional Engineers of Record to gain management and engineering experience.
  • Make design recommendations and modifications for review.
  • Prepare work scope, proposals, reports, and plan investigations for approval.
  • Supervise field staff, including engineers, technicians, and support personnel.
  • Interact with clients and project teams to develop scope and communicate progress.
  • Operate under supervision of a Professional Engineer and authorized reviewers.
  • Follow safety standards, participate in pre-task planning, and report safety issues.
  • Demonstrate quality practices and professional acumen.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification required.
