The ideal candidate will be keen to take on a variety of assignments, both in the field and supporting senior geotechnical engineers and project managers on analysis, design, and reporting tasks. While relevant work experience is required, we are looking for candidates who exhibit a positive attitude and willingness to learn and accept new challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform geotechnical modeling and analysis using industry standard software including Slide2, RS2, Settle3, LPILE, APILE, GROUP, etc.
  • Provide design recommendations for foundations, slopes, retaining walls, and embankments.
  • Perform construction monitoring and quality assurance on active construction sites, including subgrade reviews, pile installation, anchor testing, seepage cutoff wall construction, and geomembrane installation.
  • Conduct dam safety inspections for existing dams.
  • Develop project-specific design criteria using relevant design codes and standards.
  • Collect, review, and organize historical project data, including drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare geotechnical data and design reports and provide contributions to multidisciplinary design documentation reports.
  • Collaborate with Design Technology staff to prepare and revise project drawings.
  • Communicate directly with multidisciplinary engineering teams to interpret geotechnical conditions and their implications on design and construction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geological or Civil Engineering (with a geotechnical focus) preferred. A Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering is an asset but not required.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Professional Engineer (preferably P.E. in at least one State; P.Eng. in at least one Province/Territory is an asset).
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience, particularly with subsurface geotechnical investigations for dam projects.
  • Proficiency in field logging, classification, in situ and laboratory testing of soil and rock.
  • Familiarity with relevant design codes and standards preferred.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and communicating design intent from contract documents.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and prioritize effectively.
  • Keen attitude and willingness to learn and accept constructive criticism.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 40% of a given year and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively in multi-discipline teams.

Compensation Package:
