Job summary

Ripple is seeking a senior architect to own the multi-year vision for the compliance control plane, overseeing real-time screening orchestration, resilience, and regulator-grade auditability. You will define integration contracts, drive standards across teams, and translate evolving regulatory obligations into durable engineering primitives.

Lead with executive stakeholders to shape the platform’s direction.

Qualifications

12+ years building production backend systems
Experience owning architecture for complex distributed systems
Ability to set technical direction across organizational boundaries
Strong resilience and distributed-systems design instincts
Excellent API design judgment (REST/gRPC)
Experience navigating regulatory environments and audits
Working knowledge of Kubernetes and observability tooling
Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS)
Track record developing senior engineers
Fintech/payments/compliance tech background is a plus

Responsibilities

Own the multi-year architectural vision for the compliance control plane
Drive hard technical problems end to end
Set technical direction beyond FinCrimes and define integration contracts
Translate regulatory obligations into durable engineering primitives
Anticipate platform risks and scaling constraints years ahead
Partner with executive leadership to shape regulatory requirements into engineering reality
Set production ownership standards for observability and reliability
Mentor engineers and raise technical bar across the team
