Job summary

Shield AI in Seattle is seeking a Senior Power Systems Leader to define and execute the Launch and Recovery Vehicle power system from concept to production. You will oversee power generation, regulation, distribution, and control for demanding environments.

You will lead a cross-functional team of engineers, mentor designers, perform vs tests, and ensure performance and reliability through rigorous verification.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in power systems for large vehicles or aircraft
• Delivered power system and power electronics products to market
• Experience with design reviews and cross-functional leadership

• Define and execute the vision of the Launch and Recovery Vehicle power system from concept to production. This includes power generation, regulation, distribution, power quality, control, etc.
• Design, develop, and integrate state-of-the-art high-power systems tailored for optimal performance and reliability in harsh environments
• Guide teammates toward appropriate custom power electronic designs
• Enable an uninterruptible power system
• Make vs. buy trade studies. Select, test, and integrate modules for use in the aircraft
• Ensure system performance and reliability are met through rigorous verification
• Debug complex problems related to the electrical design, environmental, manufacturing, etc.
• Help build the team and lead multiple engineers dedicated to the power system design
• Drive a cross-functional team to execute the top-level architecture
• Provide mentorship, design review, and program execution leadership
• Work in a fast-paced environment
• Power system design experience on a large vehicle, aircraft, or an equivalent power system (rocket, satellite, submarine, etc.)
• 10+ years relevant experience
• Have delivered power system and power electronic products to market
• Proficient with electrical engineering development tools, simulation, and test equipment
• Strong technical fundamentals and analysis
