Shield AI is seeking a senior Power Systems Engineer to define and execute the launch vehicle power system from concept to production. You will lead design, verification, and integration of high-power systems for harsh environments and guide a team of engineers.

With a track record delivering power electronics products, you will collaborate across functions to ensure reliability and performance. This is a full-time role based in Seattle with competitive compensation and equity opportunities.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Define and execute the vision of the Launch and Recovery Vehicle power system from concept to production. This includes power generation, regulation, distribution, power quality, control, etc.
• Design, develop, and integrate state-of-the-art high-power systems tailored for optimal performance and reliability in harsh environments
• Guide teammates toward appropriate custom power electronic designs
• Enable an uninterruptible power system
• Make vs. buy trade studies. Select, test, and integrate modules for use in the aircraft
• Ensure system performance and reliability are met through rigorous verification
• Debug complex problems related to the electrical design, environmental, manufacturing, etc.
• Help build the team and lead multiple engineers dedicated to the power system design
• Drive a cross-functional team to execute the top-level architecture
• Provide mentorship, design review, and program execution leadership
• Work in a fast-paced environment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Power system design experience on a large vehicle, aircraft, or an equivalent power system (rocket, satellite, submarine, etc.)
• 10+ years relevant experience
• Have delivered power system and power electronic products to market
• Proficient with electrical engineering development tools, simulation, and test equipment
• Strong technical fundamentals and analysis

$216,000 - $325,000 a year

Full-time regular employee offer package:
