Shield AI in Seattle, WA seeks a senior Power Systems Engineering Lead to define and execute the power architecture for the Launch and Recovery Vehicle family. Responsibilities

• Define and execute the vision of the Launch and Recovery Vehicle power system from concept to production.

• Guide teammates toward appropriate custom power electronic designs.
• Enable an uninterruptible power system.
• Make vs. buy trade studies and select/test modules for aircraft use.
• Ensure system performance and reliability through verification.
• Debug complex electrical-design problems across engineering disciplines.
• Build and lead a team of engineers dedicated to power-system design.
• Drive cross-functional teams to implement top-level architecture.
• Provide mentorship, design reviews, and program-execution leadership.

• Define and execute the vision of the Launch and Recovery Vehicle power system from concept to production. This includes power generation, regulation, distribution, power quality, control, etc.
• Design, develop, and integrate state-of-the-art high-power systems tailored for optimal performance and reliability in harsh environments
• Guide teammates toward appropriate custom power electronic designs
• Enable an uninterruptible power system
• Make vs. buy trade studies. Select, test, and integrate modules for use in the aircraft
• Ensure system performance and reliability are met through rigorous verification
• Debug complex problems related to the electrical design, environmental, manufacturing, etc.
• Help build the team and lead multiple engineers dedicated to the power system design
• Drive a cross-functional team to execute the top-level architecture
• Provide mentorship, design review, and program execution leadership
• Work in a fast-paced environment
• Power system design experience on a large vehicle, aircraft, or an equivalent power system (rocket, satellite, submarine, etc.)
• 10+ years relevant experience
• Have delivered power system and power electronic products to market
• Proficient with electrical engineering development tools, simulation, and test equipment
• Strong technical fundamentals and analysis
