Job summary

Early Warning is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to lead technical strategy and architecture for cross-border payments and digital asset settlement. You will guide multiple engineering teams, shape patterns, drive scalability and security, and mentor engineers across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field.
• Twelve or more years of relevant related experience.
• Nine or more years of experience in distributed systems, SaaS, cloud solutions, micro services.
• Hands-on Docker experience.
• Proven experience leading the design and evolution of complex, large-scale payment platforms in regulated environments.
• Deep technical understanding of digital asset or stablecoin-based systems.
• Two or more years of front-end development with Angular/React.
• Eight or more years of work with Java/Spring; Maven/Gradle.
• Experience delivering business-critical systems to the market.
• Knowledge of SDLC/DevOps practices and secure coding.

Responsibilities

• Partner with software engineering, product, and architecture to shape engineering approaches.
• Own the technical strategy for broad or complex requirements with forward-looking approaches.
• Own architectural design for cross-border money movement and digital asset settlement systems.
• Resolve complex technical and scalability challenges across distributed payment platforms.
• Mentor engineers and guide teams in secure, resilient global payment solutions.
• Review and validate code output from multiple teams and resolve conflicts.
• Drive all aspects of technical architecture, design, and prototyping in support of product and strategy.
• Represent engineering in cross-functional sessions and persuade others to achieve alignment.
• Lead a broad functional area and align with team planning.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to conceptualize and build new features.
