Job summary

Salesforce, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer, Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) to join the Advanced Cross-Region Continuity team. You will design, build, and maintain cross-region workflows and DR activation sequences for large-scale infrastructure.

You’ll create validation frameworks and observability dashboards, work with service-owner teams to define readiness standards, and drive automation to retire manual steps while ensuring reliable, repeatable operations for SRE and DevOps.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in distributed systems, infrastructure automation, or platform reliability engineering.
• Experience building workflow orchestration, automation pipelines, or control-plane systems at scale (e.g., site-switch automation, DR tooling, deployment orchestration).
• Proficiency in Java, Go, Python, or equivalent with production-quality services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cross-region continuity workflows and orchestration systems for site-switch and DR activation sequences.
• Build validation frameworks and observability tooling (dashboards, telemetry, readiness signals).
• Partner with service-owning teams to define cross-system continuity contracts, integration boundaries, and readiness standards.
• Identify and retire manual steps through principled automation — documenting why each step exists, what can go wrong, and the signal that proves success.
