Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is hiring Staff Software Engineers for the Developer Infrastructure group in Platform. You will own core developer infrastructure platforms, including CI/build systems and deployment orchestration, across the full lifecycle from design through production operation.

You’ll drive cross-team alignment and shape technical strategy. The role emphasizes scalable backend systems, reliability, and mentorship, with opportunities to lead large-scale migrations and improve deployment

Qualifications

8+ years building and operating production distributed systems.
Hands-on proficiency in Go or a comparable systems language.
Experience with CI/CD, build systems, or deployment tooling.
Proven track record designing and shipping backend or platform systems at scale.
Leadership on cross-team initiatives and architectural direction.
Experience with reliability, observability, and fast recovery.

Responsibilities

Own core developer infrastructure platforms across the full lifecycle from design through production operation.
Identify high-leverage problems and turn ambiguous challenges into concrete tech roadmaps.
Drive improvements to build/CI wall time, deploy speed, and developer feedback latency.
Lead cross-cutting initiatives end to end, including large-scale platform migrations.
Raise reliability by owning SLOs, observability, and on-call processes.
Partner with engineers and leadership to shape technical strategy and mentorship.
