Job summary

Teradata Labs seeks a Sr. Staff Software Engineer to advance the Teradata SQL Engine within an agile team.

You will design, develop, and test advanced query optimization features for massively parallel processing across on-premises and hybrid cloud deployments. You will lead technical direction, perform competitive analysis, and collaborate with database architects and product teams to deliver robust, scalable database services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in software development for cloud or database systems.
• Strong leadership in complex data-management projects and feature work.
• Experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own all phases of the agile software development lifecycle from design to support.
• Define technical direction for complex feature development and analyze competition.
• Design, implement, validate, and test new DB and query optimization features.
• Lead engineers during feature development and coordinate with program managers.
• Plan, track, and report progress for large-scale initiatives.
• Contribute to LLVM-based query parsing engine development and maintenance.
