Job summary

Lambda is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the Orchestration team, shaping the managed Kubernetes, Slurm on Kubernetes, and higher-level platform services for AI workloads. You will drive end-to-end design across compute, network, storage and security to deliver reliable, scalable cloud-native infrastructure.

You will partner with NVIDIA and internal teams, mentor engineers, and help define the future of AI infrastructure at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software or platform engineering with Kubernetes at scale.
• Expert-level Kubernetes internals, controllers, schedulers, CRDs, CSI, CNI.
• Holistic infra knowledge across compute, network, storage, security.
• Strong Go and Python production coding skills.
• Deep GPU orchestration experience and multi-tenant platform design.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and alerting at scale.
• Proven technical leadership and cross-team collaboration.
• Experience operating services for external customers.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for Kubernetes services across Orchestration.
• Drive design reviews, ensure scalable, maintainable systems.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices in cloud-native engineering.
• Collaborate with Network, Storage, Security, and Customer Success teams.
• Engage with NVIDIA and open-source communities; contribute when possible.
• Shape AIOps vision for capacity planning and anomaly detection.
