Job summary

Lambda in San Francisco leads the AI cloud infrastructure. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to shape architecture and automation for our Kubernetes-based platform powering AI workloads at scale.

You’ll contribute to Managed Kubernetes, Slurm on Kubernetes, and higher-level services, building reliable, scalable systems that integrate with NVIDIA tooling and cloud-native components. This role requires deep systems knowledge and a passion for end-to-end platform excellence.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering with ownership of scope
• Experience with Kubernetes control plane components and CNCF projects

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable control plane services and operators; automate cluster lifecycle
• Build GPU-aware orchestration systems and support GPU scheduling
• Collaborate on networking solutions for AI workloads (CNI, InfiniBand, RDMA)
• Write resilient systems with retries and degraded-mode operation at large scale
• Develop platform services for inference and autoscaling
• Create internal tools/CLIs for deploy and monitor of inference services
• Support production issues via on-call rotation
