Pinterest is seeking a Sr. Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across data ecosystems at scale. You will architect and drive solutions for analytics, AI-focused data products, and governance while aligning with product and engineering stakeholders.

We value hands-on experience with large-scale data platforms and a track record of delivering measurable business impact through data tooling and AI-enabled analytics capabilities.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant industry experience with large-scale data warehouses and data tools.
• Ability to lead cross-functional partnerships across Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams.
• 5+ years building data warehouses and tools using Spark, Trino, Flink, Airflow and related ecosystems.
• Hands-on experience building AI tools and platforms to accelerate data pipeline authoring and analytics.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and design of Pinterest’s data warehouse architecture, storage, governance, and usage.
• Shape strategic direction for data analytics tools, experimentation platforms, visualization, and data pipeline tooling.
• Define and drive adoption of comprehensive data governance policies and tooling.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives across the data ecosystem, balancing usability, efficiency, and compliance.
• Drive measurable adoption and business impact across the product portfolio through platform initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and elevate the technical bar for complex design and execution decisions.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Engineering to understand user needs and drive progress.
