Job summary

Pandora, a SiriusXM brand, is seeking a Senior Staff Data Engineer to build and maintain data products and reporting systems at scale. You will mentor engineers, design pipelines, and collaborate across product, operations, and cloud teams to ensure reliable deployments and insights.

You will work with Python/Java, Spark and cloud platforms to deliver high-impact analytics and data services that power advertising, measurement, and audience insights.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience in Python or Java (preferably JDK17+).
• 7+ years designing, building, and managing data pipelines using Spark, BigQuery, AWS EMR, and GCP Cloud Analytics.
• 7+ years of experience crafting REST API based microservices across cloud platforms (ideally AWS).
• Experience with cloud data warehouses & analytics platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.
• Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with messaging and streaming (Kafka, Flink, Pub/Sub).
• Familiarity with collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence).
• Strong software process, release management, and testing knowledge.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Mathematics or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance, reliable, and scalable reporting APIs and data pipelines.
• Lead high-level architecture discussions with ad measurement, revenue and addressability data.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams in a cross-functional development process.
• Work with Product team to clarify project scope and requirements.
• Demonstrate ownership and provide clear direction to drive projects forward.
• Collaborate with Global Operations and Cloud Infrastructure teams for production deployments and incident management.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers.
